Finnchurchaid

Inter-church cooperation

Since the late 1980s, cooperation with our hard-pressed sister churches in the Baltic countries and Russia has played an important role in Finnchurchaid's inter-church programmes.

The emphasis is on capacity building, training (especially on the development of theological education and diaconia) and consultation. The main partners are the Estonian Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Ingria in Russia and the Russian Orthodox Church.

In Africa, one of Finnchurchaid's main partner churches is the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Namibia (ELCIN). Smaller churches around the world were assisted multilaterally through the LWF and the WCC.
